Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. — John 20:29
In our world today, it is tough to be able to have faith in a lot of things. We are told we should trust things, but then it seems that we are constantly lied to. We want to take people at their word and we want to be able to have faith that they are saying the truth, but we continue to hear evidence otherwise.
Whenever I think about faith in what someone has said, I often think about this verse in Scripture. All the other disciples saw Jesus, but Thomas had not. It took seeing Jesus himself before he would believe.
As long as we live in this world, we will find it difficult to have faith in all the things that we hear. We will not always be able to trust governments, world leaders, and even many times those that we come in contact with day to day. Even though we see them, it does not mean that we can have faith in them.
But I am glad that there is one that we can have faith in. No matter where we are and what we face, we know that we can have faith in Jesus! While others may have seen Him, we have not seen Him. Yet, we can still take every single word as truth and have faith in it completely.
